Plainfield Christian Science Church

We are a group of individuals from all walks of life who have experienced wonderful healing - physical, emotional, and financial. This healing includes an enlivened sense of "God with us", a loving, guiding presence - a peace of mind.

We are independent of any church hierarchy and are dedicated to spreading the news of the power of true Christian Science, exploding popular misconceptions, and showing that, in practice, Christian Science should be a religion of common sense, nurturing each one's relationship with God, without interference from institutional dogma.

We have a "Church History" pamphlet, available upon request, which details how, in 1987, after a ten year legal battle, we won the right be a Christian Science Church, independent of the oppressive hierarchy in Boston, setting a precedent for any who wish to follow. We have been thriving ever since!

Can I call a Plainfield Christian Science Practitioner for help if I am receiving medical treatment, or in the hospital?

Yes. Our practitioners lovingly pray for, and support their patients even if they are receiving medical help. They never forbid anyone from doing what he or she feels is best under their circumstances.

Can I become a member of the Plainfield Christian Science Church if I am receiving medical help, or if I belong to another church?

Yes. We welcome anyone who wants to see Christian Science prosper. Your affiliation with another church is up to you, but need not prevent you from joining this church. And we do not condemn anyone who is receiving medical care. To receive a membership application, see the "Contact Us" page.
